National Memorial
National Memorial is a monument dedicated to the memory of the martyrs of the Bangladesh Liberation War . It is located in Savar . Architect Syed Mainul Hossain designed the design . There are ten mass graves of those killed in the liberation war. The monarchy paid tribute to foreign monarchs when they officially visited Bangladesh.
A national competition was organized in 9th to design the mausoleum. The design of the architect was selected by seven contestants.
The main courtyard consists of seven triangular walls of unequal height and distinct grounds. The highest pillar is on the lowest length, and the pillar on the longest base is the lowest. The walls are angled with a fold in the middle and positioned one after the other. The highest point or top of the structure is 1.82 meters high. The structure is structured in such a way that it is exposed to different structures from different angles.
There is a BRTC bus service direct from Dhaka to the Memorial. From Motijheel-Gulistan, Shahbag, Farmgate, Asadgate, Shyamoli, Gabtali, Savar go to the memorial. Apart from Motijheel and Gulistan, Hanif, Nandan Super Bus and Greenway Bus Service travel directly to Nabinagar. In addition, the Titas Transport departing from Mirpur No. 12 went to Mirpur 1, Mirpur 1, Technical, Gabtali, Savar to Memorial.
